Face Lift (Rhytidectomy)
Face lift surgery is designed to tighten facial skin and muscles that have begun to sag due to aging and sun damage. Through custom face lift surgery, Dr. Arnold Breitbart can give patients a refreshed and more youthful appearance. There are a number of face lift options meant to accommodate each patient’s individual needs, such as a lower face lift, which tightens skin around the neck, jaw, and bottom third of the face; a mid face lift, which targets areas around the mouth, nose, cheeks, and eyes; a mini or weekend face lift, which requires less recovery time because it targets smaller areas of the face such as the neck and around the nose; and a ThreadLift™, which is a minimally invasive alternative to face lift surgery.
At Dr. Breitbart’s convenient Manhattan and Long Island offices, face lift can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or under general anesthesia. Depending on the patient’s specific needs, Dr. Breitbart may make incisions above the hairline at the temple, in front of the ear, behind the ear, and under the chin. Eyelid Surgery ( Blepharoplasty)
Dr. Arnold Breitbart offers eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) to patients who want to reduce bags beneath the eyes or lift drooping upper eyelids for a more youthful appearance. This relatively minor procedure can dramatically change the patient’s appearance by removing excess skin from the upper and lower eye areas for a more youthful look. Additionally, patients whose vision is obstructed by drooping lids benefit greatly from blepharoplasty.
At Dr. Breitbart’s New York offices in Manhattan and Long Island, the blepharoplasty procedure can last anywhere from one to two hours depending on the extent of surgery. During the eyelid lift, Dr. Breitbart will create incisions along the natural creases of the eye where they will remain hidden. Excess fat will be removed through these incisions and additional skin and muscle will be trimmed. Tiny sutures are then used to close the incisions.
Strenuous exercise should also be avoided for the first few weeks. Most patients return to work within five to ten days of the procedure.

Chin Implants
A procedure popular among both men and women, chin implants are used to reshape the chin, giving it a more defined shape. This procedure helps to balance out a patient’s facial features, creating a more proportional face and neck area. Chin implants may be recommended in conjunction with rhinoplasty or another facial procedure to improve the overall contour of the patient’s face.
At our Manhattan and Long Island practices, chin implant surgery typically takes about 30 minutes. First, Dr. Arnold Breitbart will create an incision inside the mouth. Next, the proper size and shape implant will be inserted through this incision where it will act as an attachment to the bone. The surgical area will then be sutured.
Sutures inside the mouth will dissolve over time, but any stitches in the skin are usually removed within five to seven days. Patients may feel and look better within a few days of chin implant surgery, but exercise and other activities where the face may be bumped should be avoided for the next several weeks.

Neck Lift
Through neck lift, Dr. Arnold Breitbart can remove fat with liposuction, tighten muscles, and remove excess skin to enhance the neck’s natural curves. Neck lift can be an ideal procedure for patients who have lost weight as well as those who want to enhance their neck lines.
Oftentimes, the skin on the neck begins to sag and show signs of aging before the face, giving the appearance of jowls or lax, wrinkled skin. After a neck lift procedure, patients generally look years younger with a trimmer, more contoured profile.
The procedure typically lasts between one and two hours and can be combined with liposuction, face lift, or brow lift. Patients can usually return to work within one week after the procedure.

Brow Lift
A brow lift or forehead lift performed by Dr. Arnold Breitbart can raise sagging forehead skin and reduce wrinkles to restore a more relaxed and youthful appearance.
Depending on the patient’s goals, brow lift surgery may be carried out using either the classic open technique or the endoscopic method. It is important to discuss these options with Dr. Breitbart to determine which procedure is best suited for you.
During endoscopic brow lift surgery at our New York practices, three to five short incisions are made across the scalp. A tiny camera is then inserted through these incisions along with small instruments that Dr. Breitbart uses to tighten the tissues. In open brow lift surgery on the other hand, one long incision is made across the scalp and the skin is lifted to tighten the tissues. The incisions can typically be hidden behind the hairline where they won’t be visible after surgery.
Sutures are usually removed within five to seven days. At this time patients are able to return to work, but should avoid strenuous activity and exercise for at least three weeks. Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty or nose surgery can be performed to change the size or shape of the nose, making it shapelier so that it better complements other facial features. Dr. Arnold Breitbart typically performs rhinoplasty on patients who are dissatisfied with the shapes of their noses, or to correct breathing problems.
The rhinoplasty procedure, which usually lasts about one or two hours, can be performed under local or general anesthesia. Depending on the extent of surgery, Dr. Breitbart may refine the tip of the nose, or improve the contour of the bridge of the nose.
Following surgery, a splint will be placed over the nose to protect it and hold its new shape. Patients typically feel better a couple days following surgery and can return to work about a week after the procedure. However, strenuous activity and exercise should be avoided for a few weeks.

Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)
Otoplasty, or ear surgery, is commonly performed on children, but can also benefit adults who have large, protruding, or misshapen ears. By reshaping the ears or setting them back closer to the head, otoplasty can increase self-confidence and reduce teasing from peers.
Surgery lasts between one and two hours and can be performed under local or general anesthesia. During the procedure an incision is typically made in the back of the ear, allowing Dr. Arnold Breitbart access to the cartilage. Dr. Breitbart will then reshape or remove cartilage to achieve the desired contour and position.
Most patients are able to return to school or work within five days of the procedure, but any strenuous activity where the ear could be bumped or damaged should be avoided for about a month.
