SmartLipo™
Dr. Breitbart offers SmartLipo™ MPX, the latest advance in Liposuction, in both his Long Island and Manhattan offices. SmartLipo uses laser technology to remove unwanted excess fat and tighten skin. It is ideal for many areas, including the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, back, and neck.
As one of the most experienced SmartLipo™ surgeons in the New York area, including Long Island and Manhattan, Dr. Breitbart has been performing Liposuction for over 20 years, and for the past few years has been using SmartLipo as his liposuction technique of choice. SmartLipo effectively liquefies fat for removal, and tightens the skin as well. This technology allows Dr. Breitbart’s patients to recover faster and experience considerably less bruising and swelling than with traditional Liposuction. SmartLipo patients are typically back to work within as little as one or two days following the procedure.
SmartLipo works by first using a tiny tube that is inserted through the skin into the fat. Laser energy is then delivered through the tube to the fat and overlying skin, causing the fat to liquefy and the overlying skin to tighten. A small Liposuction tube then removes the unwanted fat, resulting in a much improved contour with tightening of the skin.FAQs on SmartLipo™
Q: What are the advantages of SmartLipo™?
A: By using a laser, skin tightening can be accomplished to a better degree than with traditional Liposuction. Furthermore, since the laser coagulates loose ends of the small blood vessels as it melts the fat, there is less bruising than with traditional Liposuction, as well as less swelling and a quicker recovery time.
Q: Which areas of the body are best treated with SmartLipo™?
A: SmartLipo™ can be used to treat all areas of the body for which Liposuction is indicated, and is particularly advantageous in treating areas with some skin looseness, such as the abdomen, thighs, upper arms, love handles, and neck.
Q: Does SmartLipo™ improve cellulite?
A: SmartLipo™ will improve the body's shape and can improve cellulite to a certain degree.
Q: What type of anesthesia is used?
A: For most patients, local anesthesia alone can be used. This can be supplemented with sedation anesthesia being given by a board certified anesthesiologist if the patient desires.
Q: Where are the SmartLipo™ procedures performed?
A: All procedures are performed by Dr. Breitbart in his office surgery center, which is certified by the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilites (AAAASF).
